How many holiday parties do you have coming up? I have a handful, but I feel like the closer it gets to Christmas, the more parties pop up! I like to have a few holiday party looks on hand so that there is no stress when a party pops up!

what to wear to an ornament exchange.

I love doing ornament exchanges! Ornaments are small — not too expensive — and make such a fun memory when decorating your tree each year! A girl’s night ornament exchange is one of my favorite types of holiday parties! And it’s also one of my faves to dress for — a little edge, a little funk, and a whole lot of sass — just add wine and we’re good to go!

what to wear to your child’s school party.

As you may know, this is our first year of preschool which means our first year of preschool parties! Adelaide’s school actually has several cute Christmas things planned, including A Night in Bethlehem where the kids get to walk around “the town”.

And I don’t know how you feel, but I think school parties are one of the hardest to dress for — you want to be cute, school appropriate, but also kid-proof! For me, that means machine washable everything! And of course, a cute sneaker! I’m a big fan of plaid, flannel and jeans for a casual holiday look. It’s so easy to add a vest or furry coat over this look which steps up the holiday vibe just a bit!

what to wear to your office party.

The dreaded office party! JK — I have actually loved every office party I ever attended — even those of my husband’s! It’s always a nice time to catch up with people in a way that is different once you’re outside of the office!

I have always found office parties are a bit more conservative, and sometimes even mean heading straight from the office! Insert the fur vest: the perfect “holiday pop” — especially for taking a work outfit to the party level!

what to wear to The Nutcracker.

Confession: I danced in The Nutcracker more times than I can remember growing up — I’ve been everything from a toy soldier to a sugar plum fairy! It is one of my fondest childhood memories — my whole family would greet me at the end of our first show with a huge display of roses! I think I thought I was Clara because I felt so special!

While Adelaide is still too young to appreciate a night at The Nutcracker, I can’t wait until we can take her! Until then, date night it is! I still think that a night at the theater should be fancy, which for me is all about a midi skirt and top combo! As you know this is one of my favorite ways to do cocktail or black tie events — mostly because I like to be able to rewear the pieces separately.
