Let me first start by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR! I decided right before Christmas to take a blogging break — I really wanted time to focus on my family over the holidays and to be honest, wanted to come back feeling 100% re-energized about the blogging world!

Well, my one week hiatus turned into a bit longer while I really tried to think about what this whole blogging world means to me, and how it fits into my life!

But I’m back baby, and I have amazing things in store for this next year.

goodbye 2018.

I’m not going to lie … 2018 was not our best year. Yes, there were still so many things to be thankful for, but to be honest, I’m not sad to see her go. We lost a dog and a baby in 2018.

But we gained a greater faith in God and a stronger family bond, we bought a new house, we watched our daughter grow and thrive in her first few months of preschool. I launched my new website and met amazing bloggers and photographers. I began to develop my personal brand and started representing two amazing companies. We watched some of our very best friends commit their lives to each other and celebrated other friends who found out they would be parents soon!

I guess 2018 wasn’t so bad after all, but either way — I’m welcoming 2019 with open arms.

hello 2019.

Dear 2019, I’ve got big dreams for you. So let’s do this.

my 2019 plans.

  • God first. If 2018 taught me anything it was trust His plan first & foremost. And my hope for 2019 is that I learn to do this every single moment of every single day.
  • Family next. We had a blast in 2018, but we were way over-busy. Our goal for 2019 is to still have a blast, but to also have some down time with just the three of us. {4 including our sweet pup Rosie}
  • Grow my brand. As I said, I launched my blog and started representing two amazing brands last year. My goal for this year is to grow every aspect of my personal brand — from my blog readership to my skincare business.
  • Travel. We did our fair share of travel last year, but I’d really like to take Adelaide somewhere she’s never been, as well as, go on a parents-only vacay!
  • Read More. I’m such a nerd when it comes to a good book — like do not want to talk to anyone until it’s finished. And in 2019, I plan to do a lot more reading on my brand new Kindle!

So there you have it my goals/plans/resolutions for 2019. And I hope to do all of this with an overwhelming sense of positivity. Because if there’s one thing that 2018 taught me, it’s that there’s always a silver lining in God’s plan — blessings in every mess.

So Happy New Year Y’all! Now tell me, what are your goals for the year?
