For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mom. But more than that, I wanted to have summers off to spend with my kids doing all sorts of fun activities! Now that I am a mama, I am also fortunate enough to be able to create my own work schedule, which means plenty of time for summer fun with Baby A!

Living in Charlotte, we are just a few hours drive to either the mountains or the beach and we are so lucky to have grandparents in both places! So while I’m sure we’ll be spending plenty of time ‘vacationing’ with the grands, there are so many activities we can do right in our own backyard — or at least really close to it!

summer 2018 fun list

  • build sandcastles — in our sandbox
  • {attempt to} grow a vegetable garden
  • visit our local splashpads
  • go on nature walks
  • bake cookies
  • paint the driveway with water {no clean up = way more fun for mama}
  • backyard picnics

It may not be a long list, but all of these are super affordable and easy-to-do activities — most of which we have already added into our weekly rotation!

Adelaide’s backyard sandbox has quickly become one of her very favorite things! And we’ve got wonderful parks and greenways in Charlotte that we take full advantage of! Nothing cuter than a tiny ‘hiker’!

Except for maybe a baby in a backwards hat!

So tell me Mamas, what’s on your summer fun list?
